Rain City Powerlifting Union (RCPU) is a local powerlifting federation within the PNW and a movement that stands firmly in solidarity with the trans community. In a time when anti-trans legislation and discrimination persist, RCPU is dedicated to creating an inclusive and affirming space for all athletes, regardless of their experience levels and gender identity.

At RCPU, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to compete exactly as they are, without facing barriers or judgment. We proudly embrace and celebrate trans, intersex, and nonbinary athletes and understand the importance of providing a platform for those individuals to showcase their skills, passion, and dedication to the sport of powerlifting.

As another addition to our commitment towards inclusivity, RCPU proudly offers a non-binary category, ensuring that individuals who identify outside of the traditional gender binary can participate and excel in powerlifting. We recognize that gender is diverse, and our goal is to create an environment that respects and validates the identities and experiences of all athlete while actively opposing all forms of discrimination or hate.

All RCPU meets serve as fundraisers within and for the Seattle community. We are committed to working alongside organizations and individuals who share our vision of a more inclusive and equitable society. Since our inception, we have raised over $150,000 to donate towards local Seattle organizations such as:
